Hot Day at Mothers Garden

On June 30, ABLA Board member Amy Arrendell and her friend Marcie volunteered at the Center for Native Health’s Cherokee Mothers Garden. Amy says it’s worth the visit to get to know Madison Leatherwood, the Garden’s volunteer coordinator as well as director of the MedCaT Health Career Mentorship Program for the Center for Native Health.
This hot Tuesday they weeded while a volunteer youth group spread mulch. As they left, Amy said hello to Trey Adcock, the Executive Director of the Center for Native Health. The garden is his special baby. Amy told him she was happy to be there. Trey said, “Isn’t it fun?!”
Yes, it’s fun to pull weeds with everyone at the garden!
